Rapid response to secure explosives stockpile in St. Lucia

Implementing agency: UNLIREC – United Nations Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean

Project timeframe: 01/01/2017 – 31/12/2017

Target countries: St. Lucia

Goal: Establish safer location of the explosives stockpile to a new IATG-compliant facility.

Activities: Relocation of the explosives stockpile to a new facility and carry out technical re-organization of the storage facility, including the disposal/destruction of all unsafe and/or time expired explosives. And, the building of capacities of the Police Force to manage and dispose of explosives in alignment with internationals security and safety standards.
