Winners of the Poster for Peace Contest honored
On 3 May 2016, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) organized an event to showcase the twelve winning posters from eleven artists who won the United Nations Poster for Peace Contest. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President of the General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft, High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Kim Won-soo and United Nations Messenger of Peace Michael Douglas participated. On 27 April, the European Union organized a side event at the Preparatory Committee for the Eighth BWC Review Conference. The side event marked the official launch of EU Council Decision 2016/51/CFSP in support of the BWC. H.E. The second Preparatory Committee (PrepCom) session on an Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) convened at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 28 February to 4 March 2011.
