Building SALW tracing systems for SDG 16.4.2 reporting in the ECOWAS sub-region: Promoting synergies between the ECOWAS Convention and the ITI

Target countries: West Africa

Goal: Two key regional states and the ECOWAS Commission develop systems to use the ECOWAS Convention Article 19 mechanism to identify sources and diversion points of illicit SALW through SALW tracing, which are then reproducible by other ECOWAS member states.

Activities: Expert round table, inventory of state-owned weapons, system for tracing, PoA/ITI national reports.
