The conference aims to enhance capacity of early-career female professionals, nurture a living network of women in the field of WMD disarmament and non-proliferation and provide an opportunity to meet role-models in the field, with a particular focus on the effective implementation of resolution 1540 (2004) in the Global South.
We seek attendees who are early career professional women with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience either in the fields of practitioners or academia. Applications from women from the Global South are encouraged. We also are prioritizing those with a background, interest or work in the following fields: UNSCR 1540; nuclear, chemical, biological (nonproliferation, security, arms control) and radiological security; global health security; terrorist financing; international law; export and border control; terrorist prevention; diplomacy; law enforcement; and agriculture and food security. Individuals from government, academia, international organizations, and the nongovernmental sector are welcome.
Therefore, the participation of the conference is limited to the following:
- Women with at least two full years of work experience in the field of WMD disarmament and Nonproliferation and related fields.
- Preference is given to women from the Global South.
The Steering Team will review all applications for eligibility and will notify shortlisted candidates to attend the conference.
